This section details what the latest Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) data shows us in terms of who goes abroad, where they go and for how long. A printable resource for the 2014/15 mobility data can be found here, and the 2013/14 data can be found here.
In the UK, the main source of data on the number of students studying or on work placement as part of their degree comes from the HESA. For the academic year 2014/15, institutions reported 35,000 instances of mobility to HESA, among 31,720 students, of whom 24,185 were UK domiciled students.
