Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Summer Programme

Now open - Applications from PhD/MPhil students (UK nationals / all research fields) for the JSPS Summer Programme 2018.

The British Council, together with its partners in Japan, supports exchange between young researchers from the UK and other countries. There is a variety of funding available to promote exchange through activities such as short-term visits and networking conferences.

For the 2018 Program, 18 fellowship places are available for UK nationals who are enrolled in PhD or M.Phil. programmes at UK universities at the time of application.

JSPS Summer Program is implemented as a component of the Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan. It provides opportunities for young researchers from North American and European countries to receive an orientation on Japanese culture and research systems and to pursue research under the guidance of host researchers at Japanese universities and research institutes over a period of two months during the summer.

Full details on the programme and how to apply can be found here.

The deadline for applications and all supporting documentation is 15 January 2018, 11:59pm GMT.
